Halloween is almost here — the perfect excuse to dim the lights, grab your controller, and dive into something terrifying.If you’re like me, you’re already checking what terrifying adventures are lurking around the corner for 2025–2026. This lineup proves that horror gaming is alive and thriving — from nightmarish haunted towns to cosmic dread in deep space. Whether you’re into survival, psychological, or story-driven chills, there’s something here that’ll keep your heart pounding long after you put the controller down.

Below is my personal list of upcoming and recently released horror games to watch for in 2025–2026 — ranked not by fear alone, but by how unique, creative, and chilling they promise to be.

Out of Sight

A dark, perspective-bending horror puzzle game where you see through the eyes of Sophie's teddy bear as you move Sophie and try to escape a haunted mansion. The game’s shifting viewpoints, eerie whispers, and flickering lights keep you on edge the entire time. It’s all about observation and problem-solving rather than combat, making every movement tense.

Tormented Souls 2

Caroline Walker returns in this sequel to one of the creepiest modern survival horror games. With fixed camera angles, limited ammo, and disturbing environments, this feels like a love letter to early Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I loved the first game and can’t wait to explore the new horrors waiting inside Villa Hess.

Cronos: The New Dawn

This third-person survival horror shooter from sends you into an alternate-1980s Eastern Europe where distorted timelines and mutated creatures threaten to erase reality. Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion

DreadOut 3

Indonesia’s beloved ghost-hunting saga expands into a cinematic 3D world. Use your smartphone camera to capture and exorcise spirits drawn from local legends. This entry raises the stakes with multi-realm exploration and more intense encounters.

Little Nightmares III
